Launched in December 2007.

• The Journal of Writing in Creative Practice (JWCP) is the official organ of the Writing Purposefully in Art and Design (Writing PAD) network. It offers art and design institutions an arena in which to explore and develop the notion of thinking through writing as a parallel to visual discourse in art and design practice. The journal aims to extend the debates to all national and international higher educational art and design institutions.

Call for Papers

We will publish 1 volume each year which consists of 3 issues (usually January/April/November). We are always looking for new submissions. However, the next two volumes (until 2010) will be guest edited by the Writing PAD Centres.

We will have guest edited issues for volume 3.

• The first two issues will be taken from the conference ART.MEDIA.DESIGN | WRITING INTERSECTIONS which will take place in Melbourne, Australia at the Swinburne University of Technology on November 18-19, 2009.
• This issue will be published in 2010
• The deadlines for the conference are:
• Abstracts Due: June 16
• Notification of Acceptance: July 16
• Full Papers Due: September 16
• Conference: 18-19 November
